How to unlock Zapdos in PokeBonk
Zapdos joins your League in two steps. First, finish its League challenge; the counters add up across runs unless a goal says "in a single run":
- Have 50 members in your League.
- Win the Rocky Desert.
- Defeat 3,000 Pokemon in the rain in a single run.
Catching Zapdos
Then Zapdos can show up as a Wild Encounter in your next runs, 50 to 120 seconds into a zone. It runs away after 240 seconds, so weaken it and throw a Poke Ball before then. The PokeBonk unlock Pokemon guide lists every challenge.
Zapdos moves in PokeBonk
Each League Pokemon has a fixed kit of four moves. Move 1 is equipped from the start; moves 2, 3 and 4 are offered as new-move cards at player levels 2, 4 and 7. A run holds three moves until you buy the 4th move slot in the Lab. Hit damage below is the move's base hit at level 1 before your stats, items and type bonus; cooldowns shrink with attack speed.
| Slot | Move | Type | Class | Shape | Unlocks | Base hit | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bolt Beak | Electric | Physical | Charge | Start | 27 | 2.14 s |
| 2 | Wildbolt Storm | Electric | Special | Cone | Level 2 | 5 | 1.92 s |
| 3 | Thunderclap | Electric | Special | Heavenly Impact | Level 4 | 20 | 1.3 s |
| 4 | Electro Shot | Electric | Special | Bolt | Level 7 | 11 | 2.24 s |
Zapdos passive: Electric Pressure
Legendary: +10% damage, HP and speed. Every 5 s three lightning bolts strike nearby enemies and paralyze them.
Bolt Beak, Wildbolt Storm, Thunderclap, and Electro Shot match Zapdos's type, so they deal 25% more damage (same-type bonus). Moves can also be learned from its learnset and from other League members of the same type, which the PokeBonk beginner guide explains.
Zapdos Ultimate in PokeBonk
Zapdos's Ultimate gets stronger as the line evolves: each form has its own version. Press R (Y on a controller) when the bar is full, or turn on Auto Ultimate with the Y key. The PokeBonk Ultimate guide explains how the bar charges.
| Form | Ultimate | Duration | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zapdos | Legendary Storm | 3.4 s | Zapdos unleashes a 3 s storm: lightning strikes non-stop and five enormous thunderclaps hit the strongest. With Maturity, three Zapdos dive down and it rains. |
Zapdos stats in runs
The game turns base stats into run stats with the share of each stat in the base stat total, so a balanced Pokemon and a lopsided one end up with different strengths. Each evolution stage adds 0.12 to the HP and damage multiplier. These are the starting values before Lab upgrades, items and vitamins:
| Form | Stage | Max HP | Armor | Speed | Physical | Special | Damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zapdos | 0 | 112 | 8.1 | 1.04x | 1.01x | 1.08x | 1x |
Zapdos base stats

Where Zapdos appears as a boss
Besides being playable, Zapdos is listed as a boss on the maps: Storm Coast as the zone 3 legendary (map not open in Season 1). Boss HP is budgeted from your own damage per second, so the fight length stays close to the game's targets; the PokeBonk maps page lists every boss slot.
