Here is how to play PokeBonk on a PC, with a controller or on a phone. The game runs in the browser at pokebonk.com: open it, pick a starter, choose a map and press Start. Your moves fire on their own; you steer, jump and slide, pick upgrades and fire your Ultimate.

New to the game? Read the PokeBonk guide for how a run flows, then PokeBonk starters to choose between Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. The PokeBonk Pokedex and the tier list help you pick what to play next, and PokeBonk tips covers what to do once you know the keys.

Aiming, target lock and the camera

Moves aim at the closest enemy by default. Q (LB on a controller) switches between auto and manual aim, and the right mouse button (RB) locks and cycles a target, which helps against a guardian in a crowd. Move the mouse or the right stick to turn the camera; the wheel or the D-pad zooms. Tab opens your build while you choose a card, and holding Tab shows the big map without pausing.

How to play PokeBonk with a controller

Controllers work in runs and in every menu since version 0.5.1. A jumps, B or LT slides, X interacts, and Y or RT fires the Ultimate. Start pauses and Select opens the zone map. On the level-up screen the D-pad or stick moves between cards, A picks and the shoulder buttons switch tabs. The dead zone (0.15 by default) and rumble can be changed in Settings.

How to play PokeBonk on mobile

Phones and tablets get touch mode on their own: a virtual joystick on the left and buttons for jump, slide, interact, Ultimate, target lock and aim. Settings has a fixed joystick option and a battery saver. Landscape works best. If touch controls do not appear, add ?touch=1 to the address; ?touch=0 turns them off.

Ultimate and Auto Ultimate

The Ultimate bar fills over time and faster with kills, bosses and damage you take. Press R (Y on a controller) when it is full. The Y key toggles Auto Ultimate, which fires it whenever an enemy is within 16 m; the Uninterrupted Ultimate setting removes the slow motion. PokeBonk Ultimate lists what charges it.

How PokeBonk saves your progress

You can play as a guest or with an account; either way your League, Stardust, Lab and unlocks are kept between sessions, and Settings, Account lets you rename, restart or delete the account. A run in progress is saved even if the browser closes or the connection drops, and you get its rewards when you return. Play on the official site: copies of the game on other addresses do not share that save. If the page will not open, see PokeBonk not loading.
