PokeBonk not loading usually comes down to the browser, graphics settings or the network. The game is a 3D browser game at pokebonk.com that needs WebGL, the browser feature for 3D graphics. Try the fixes below in order; most players are back in a minute.
If you searched for "pokebank", that is Pokemon Bank, Nintendo's old storage app for the 3DS. PokeBonk is the free survivor game; the PokeBonk guide explains it.
Quick fixes when PokeBonk will not load
- Reload the page with Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac) to skip the cache after an update.
- Use a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari; very old browsers lack the 3D features.
- Turn on hardware acceleration in the browser settings and restart it.
- Check that WebGL works: if other 3D sites fail too, update your graphics driver.
- Turn off ad blockers and script blockers for pokebonk.com and reload.
- Close other heavy tabs; the game needs memory for hundreds of Pokemon on screen.
PokeBonk not loading past a black screen or Poke Balls
Since version 0.5.7 the game waits for Pokemon models with a loading bar instead of showing Poke Balls, and it downloads less after each update. If you still see Poke Balls or a black screen, let the first load finish on a stable connection, then reload. Version 0.7.0 added a keep-playing-without-image fallback when the graphics context is lost, so a run in progress is not thrown away.
PokeBonk lag and low frame rate
- Lower the quality in Settings, Graphics.
- Use Hide my attacks or lower My attacks opacity when the screen fills with effects.
- Turn on the battery saver on phones.
- Turn down the HUD or the minimap if your screen is small.
- Plug in a laptop: many laptops slow the graphics chip on battery.
PokeBonk unblocked at school or work
Many school and work networks block game sites. We do not link to mirrors: copies on other addresses may be outdated, may carry ads that redirect, and they do not share your save with the real game. Play at pokebonk.com on a network that allows it, such as your home connection or mobile data.
Phones and tablets
On phones the game switches to touch controls on its own. If buttons are missing, add ?touch=1 to the address. Landscape mode gives a wider view, and the battery saver keeps the frame rate steady. Version 0.7.0 cut mobile crashes when changing zones; if the game still closes, free memory by closing other apps. More in how to play PokeBonk.
Lost a run or your progress
Runs are saved with everything earned when the browser closes or the connection drops, and you get them back when you return. Guest progress survives Exit and sign-in since version 0.6.1. If a run was flagged for review, check the PokeBonk patch notes: several updates reduced false flags on bad connections. For anything else, the developer's channels are on the official links page. Once you are back in, PokeBonk tips and the tier list help you make up for lost time.
