What Magnet does in PokeBonk
+30% Electric-type move damage and +3% total damage. Each extra copy adds the same bonus again, up to 10. Since version 0.5.3 bonuses of the same kind add together instead of multiplying, so 10 copies give +30% total damage.
Items work on every move you carry, whatever its shape, unless the effect names a shape or a type. The pause screen shows each move's damage per second, so you can check what Magnet adds mid-run.
Best Pokemon for Magnet
Magnet pays off when most of your damage is Electric-type. League Pokemon of that type: Pikachu, Magnemite, Voltorb, Electabuzz, and Zapdos. 7 League Pokemon carry at least one Electric move in their kit. Moves of the same type as your Pokemon already get +25% (same-type bonus), and the boost stacks on top. The tier list shows which of them score best.
How to get Magnet
Chests are Poke Balls you buy with PokeDollars during a run; each one costs more than the last. A paid Poke Ball lets you pick one of three items, Great Balls from challenge altars and guardians are free, and Meowth's shop sells four offers at a time. Common items make up most early rolls.
Magnet is open from the start. If it keeps crowding out items you want, the Lab's Archive upgrade removes up to three items per level from chests and the shop.
Other common items
Magnet competes with these common items for the same chest rolls. The full list is on the PokeBonk items page.
