Pokemon · Growlithe line · last checked 2026-10-20
PokeBonk Arcanine is a Fire-type Pokemon that you cannot pick at the start of a run: it is the evolved form of Growlithe, a League Pokemon. Play Growlithe and it evolves into Arcanine automatically at player level 36, which raises your HP and damage multiplier to 1.12x. Arcanine keeps the Growlithe kit. The line sits in B tier with a Kit Score of 36.9.

How to get Arcanine in PokeBonk
You do not unlock Arcanine directly. First unlock Growlithe through its League challenge and catch it; the PokeBonk unlock Pokemon guide lists the conditions. Then pick Growlithe for a run and level up: evolution in a run depends only on your player level, not on stones or trades, so Arcanine arrives at level 36.
Each stage adds 0.12 to your HP and damage multiplier, so an evolved form hits harder and takes more hits than the Pokemon you started with. An Eviolite helps until the last stage. See PokeBonk evolution for every line.
Arcanine moves and passive
Arcanine uses the same four-move kit as Growlithe; evolving does not swap moves. Its passive is Loyal Guardian: +10% speed. Every 3 s, nearby enemies are intimidated (they deal -40% damage).

Arcanine stats in runs
The game turns base stats into run stats with the share of each stat in the base stat total, so a balanced Pokemon and a lopsided one end up with different strengths.
